Pilot boat (I) Photo

Photographer’s Note

Now we are about to really leave the Shetlands for the crossing back to Norway. I post here two views on Lerwick form the sea in workshop 1 (the pier) and workshop 2 (the city, with the small replica of a viking boat). Plus this one showing the pilot boat just leaving the ship. She will make a turn around to say good bye, but I leaves those for tomorrow. Sorry for the depth of view, but my camera at the time did not provide mcuh flexibility for this kind of views...

Les couleurs de plomb nous donnent un bonne idée du temps, apparemment peu clément! J;aime bien le cadrage vertical. Le flou au premier plan ne dérange pas,a mon avis, au contraire, ca donne de la profondeur... Cadrage vertical bien adapté

An interesting photo of the pilot boat in front of you. I also like the inclusion of the other parts of the ship, like the ropes in the foreground. A good impression of your depart from the Shetlands.

Hi Emmanuel,
As always it is good to drop in again and update on your adventures.Some lovely scenes of The Shetland Islands and you were lucky to catch the May 17th celebrations (was that planned?).I like your choice of perspective here through the ropes as it gives you a true sense of being at sea and the connection with the parting ship.Looks like bad weather was on its way?Great stuff.....TFS.

Good action photograph, and the blurry foreground enhances my experience of the pilot...
Obviously a gray day and some wind, hopefully you had a nice trip back!
