Shetland seacapes (II) Photo

Photographer’s Note

After this morning's posting, a very quite and nearly desertic shore, a little more action with three cliffs views, again on Mainland, the main island if the Shetlands.
It is also a good illustration of the use - good or bad - of Neatimage.
This one was processed with Neatimage, sharpened then reduced, but there is a little bit of sky at the top which allowed the measurements there rather than on the sea. As a consequence, the "smoothing" effect is less noticeable (except in the top left corner).
Workshop 1 was in the same but Neatimage had to make the measurement on the moving sea on the top left, and may details were erased in the process even with the increase in sharpness.
In workshop 2, sharpness was increased without using Neatimage, with led to a significant increase in the grain in the image...

Hello Emmanuel,
Rugged shoreline, so typical of British Isles. Quality continuous to be quite fine considering the age of these images. Workshop is a good demo of the damage done by NeatImage. They are not exactly the same pictures though. Regards,

A coastline marked by harsh conditions up through the centuries!
I like the point of view, and the surf gives hint to how it really can be around here...
A balanced composition, where the cliffs stand out!

En regardant cette image, je me sens impuissant devant ces vagues puissantes et déchaînées. Elles causent l'érosion de ces immenses paroies rocheuses. Superbe point de vue nous montrant toute l'action.

A beautiful view along the cliffs of the Shetlands. It's great to see the white waves around the rocks. You found a very good POV for this view too. Very well done!

Très belle photo.
J'aimse beaucoup cette cote découpée battue par les vagues.
Je trouves que les couleurs sont très soft.. ce qui accentues le sentiment d'isolation de ce lieu.

A balanced compo. with the steep cliffs and the sea. The colour contrast is excellent, though the rough edges of the rocks has been slightly blunted by Neat Image. The POV from your vantage position is good. Well done!
