Photographer’s Note
Another shot from a walk with my new family yesterday.
I know this shot would have more punch if it was shot with a wider lens, and from a lower viewpoint. However I was out with only one lens - my new 24-70mm f2.8 that I was trying out.
Thanks for looking
Craig

Hi Craig,
Sure, maybe a wider angle would have been nice, but only a tiny bit wider. Still, the shot holds up well, and the composition works very well, drawing my eyes through the picture in a pleasing manner. The colours and lighting are fabulous; from the partly dark sky, to the beautiful shades in the water, and of course the captivating pebbles. Really a lovely and touching shot. Your new lens didn't let you down here!

Hello Craig,
What a lovely shot showing a terrific range of tones and colours. The composition is terrific and the dark clouds give a very moody feel to the shot. Thanks for sharing,
Jules

Craig,
I like the vertical composition here allowing the eye to be led into the shot by the waters edge. The lighting and colors are great with nice sharpness and detail. The architecture is great and you have captured it well.

Hi Craig,
With such a cloudy sky it's no wonder the shot ended up dark but nevertheless a fine range of colours is present, especially the beach in the foreground.
Except for the white hosue, the grey facades fit naturally with the sky and sea and look as if they have been there forever.
As for the composition, I only wish we can see a little bit more of the sky.

Hej craig
An other good one , even if i prefer the first one with the buoyand the backyard. that was more focused on the house the architecture , this one is more the quay and the water.
Keep on walking ; )

So how do you like your new toy? I love that lens myself. I liked it a lot better when I shot film, and I hope one day I can afford a full frame sensor. Wouldn't a 5D be nice?

As for the photo, I think the composition is very nice. A wider angle would have made the houses too small to see very well. Those rocks in the foreground are gorgeous. Nice work.
Take care,
Ryan

Hi Craig,
Another wonderful picture from this fascinating place, good use of the shoreline with a diagonal sweep into the picture.
Best regards,
Paul.
