Photographer’s Note

This is one of two ways to get to and from the Shetland Isles from the mainland of Scotland. You can travel on a ferry overnight, taking around 12 hours, or you can fly in about 50 minutes.

Given that this photo was taken in August, and the weather is like this, I choose the flying option everytime. In fact I haven't travelled by boat to the UK mainland in about 10 years.

For some people a trip on the ferry is part of their holiday. Of those people I am jealous, because in life that's really what makes a person truly happy; taking pleasure from the journey, not the destination.

Thanks for looking
Craig
