Arrival in Lerwick (I) Photo

Photographer’s Note

My first two views of the Shetlands: the bay of Lerwick, with the small light tower marking the entrance. The harbour and town are on the other side of the bay, more or less behing me here. The first part of the voyage is over, not a very good souvenir due to the bad weather and it nice to see a bit (a very little bit) of sun behind the clouds and to think that a solid ground is waiting for us...

Additional comment: the two images are a bit grainy, since Neatimage would not work on these unegal surface... So the images have only minimal postprocessing here.

Hola Emmanuel, parece que nos da por las escenas marinas. Imagen sencilla pero hermosa con esas nubes difuminando el sol, bonito detalle de las casas en medio de la montaña. Buenas noches desde España.

Une atmosphère sombre bien rendue et accentuée par cet incroyable ciel et cette mer dans les mêmes tonalités... le promontoire et le phare ajoutent encore a l'effet...

Wonderful shot Emmanuel, I see people uploading photos after photos but all just boring to look at with no thought whatsoever gone into it and then I see yours with a very nice and sharp emage, good choice of light and depth of field, well done for this shot, I apppreciate good photos and this is defenetely on of them, congratulations again, Salas

Salut Emmanuel!

This is a very interesting view because of the almost monochromatic shades, dark ones, with a very spectacular sky, and that building at the centre of the island which gives colour to your image! It is a very spectacular view because of the place and the composition you have chosen, not getting closer, I think it has been a great job, but I am getting curious about the place!

The clouds here are really beautiful and create a fantastic light as well. The dark land looks nice too, especially with the white buildings in the middle. Very well done and thanks for sharing!

Hello Emmanuel,
This is an interesting composition, simplicity rules!
The rock, the sea and the sky is all there is...
But the light is amazing, playing with the clouds and reflected from the sea, next I start to study the houses on shore!
