Photographer’s Note

It's been a busy weekend in the Shetland Isles. Several summer events all happened on the longest weekend of the year providing a great few days of activities for tourists and locals alike.

One festival, the Johnsmas Foy focuses on maritime events and features a yacht race from Bergen on Norway to Shetland and back. Some of the participating yachts were simply stunning.

This image shows some fo the details of these beautiful vessels tied up with part of Lerwick's seafront visible in the foreground. The weather over the weekend was far from perfect, but it made for great sailing.

Very fine tight cropping. I like the way the tones are emphasized by this "sailing" weather. I have never seen Lerwick, so no 'deja vu' for me :)
