Good Morning Everyone,
My photograph was taken in Scotland, during our TE get-together and shows part of the old, ruined church at Temple. My photograph was taken through the large arched window, where the altar would have stood, to capture the symbolic cross, still standing, atop the opposing wall.
The church was built in the 1300's supposedly on the site of a much older church. There are links with the Knights Templar (hence the name Temple) and the later Knights of St John.
It is a very serene place, almost mystical, a little distant from the small village.
We enjoyed exploring the ruin, its grounds and the many headstones surrounding it.
If you would like to know more about the site this is a really interesting site from 'Undiscovered Scotland'.
(The slight swirls in the sky are created by smoke from a nearby chimney.)
Have a great Sunday,

sei sempre brava nello scegliere bei POV per le tue foto che hanno la caratteristica di essere sempre composte molto bene.
In questa la composizione risulta particolarmente efficace e ad essa si uniscono anche colori e nitidezza eccellenti.
Ciao e buona domenica

The ruined window makes an excellent frame for the gable end with its cross. I like the low light and understated tones. Very good rendering of the textural detail.

Nice balanced and symmetrical view of this lovely archwindow. The ruins of the steeple is well placed in the middle. Great detailing on the stone walls. Like the natural light and colours. Thanks for sharing a nice photo of the church ruins.

Scotland! Can't wait to visit this beautifully rustic country at some point!! :)
hard to believe it was built around the year 1300, so much history here.
Imagine if only the walls could talk.
and perhaps there are ghosts around too?
a great time of day for photos, the blue sky and wispy clouds really make a strong impact.
and of course the stone walls steal the show here.
Bet it looked amazing in its prime.

Yes, wasn't Temple a fascinating little place? And a place with which I was not previously familiar.
I took several pictures here but I don't think that they were very successful, though I must revisit them and see if there's anything worthwhile. You have certainly captured the mood of the place and have also coped very well with what I remember as being very strong light and very strong contrasts.
An excellent and imposing composition with good light and colours and still lots of detail visible in that sky. Perfect exposure and excellent details and sharpness.
P.S. Yes, that "Undiscovered Scotland" website is excellent, isn't it? I even managed to find a recipe on that site - for "Rumbledethumps" - a fine hearty meal for a cold winter's day!

J'aime beaucoup cette contre plongée qui donne beaucoup d'ampleur à cette composition. Le ciel est très bien utilisé comme arrière plan et les détails sont d'une grande netteté.

A beautiful central composition on the church, and as you say, it puts the old stone cross into a striking position in the frame.the sky has created a lovely double layer as well, it seems almost that the sky itself wants to show this cross off!
Amazing the detail of the tracery in the window too, to think this delicate stonework is over 700 years old and still there is pretty cool. Shows the craftsmanship of the day!
All the best

Very beautiful details that fortunately still remains of this building. I enjoy your symmetric approach here and the way you have combined these two remaining gables. Very attractive details here!

Oh yes, I remember it well (cue for a song?) Your symmetrical composition is very effective, and the wide-angle gives the near wall and window real presence. Excellent.
(Thanks for responding to the email. You appear to be the only couple coming this time!)

Le point de vue en donne pour mettre les détails de l'architecture en valeur.Très agréable contraste de couleurs entre la lumière éclairant les pierres et le bleu doux de ce ciel.

Excellent composition and sharp presentation of a part of this ruined church.
I like the view of the opposite wall with the cross through this window.
The sky ranging from white to blue is a very nice backdrop.
Best regards, Paul

I am so much behind in my TE activity. I had to come back to this one as I have witnessed when you have photographed it so I have a special sentiment for it.
Very attractive central symmetry, the geometry is eye catching with plenty of lines and shapes. I thought we had a relatively bad weather over there and yet you have selected an angle under which we can see a blue sky :)
It was literally a hidden treasure this place.
Very well done!
