Photographer’s Note
The last in the trilogy of a new organ for old.
This looked lovely shining in the light in the corner of the Old Peebles Church. I would love to have heard it playing as well as seeing it.
Some bits from the old organ are here - The pipes are silent but they aren't.
The new organ pipes can be seen here - New pipes for old, completing the trilogy.
Once again I was leaning on the rail upstairs to steady the camera enough.
I have posted a photo of a contrasting organ in another Scottish Borders town - Duns - Magic Organ for a Wee Town.

Hallo Alastair!
Yes, quite a different organ in comparison to "mine". Yours is more unassuming but also beautiful and I like its front very much. I would like to hear it ... ;-)

Well done, an interesting trilogy. The light in the top part of this one is lovely.

Hello Alastair,
I like the effective lighting on the organ pipes and its surround. On the woodwork, I might have increased the color saturation selectively, while maintaining the gray of the stone. I came across your gallery while reading Winifred Sillitto's spectacular story about James Clerk Maxwell (I am a professor of physics). I am grateful for the ws you provided that literally shed some light on the scene, so that the statue could be better seen.
Warm regards,
Bulent

Hello, Alastair.
This is a beautiful shot. I've been following your pictures of the organ rebuild at Peebles with interest but this is definitely the best picture from a photographic point of view.
The lighting, colours and composition here are just perfect.
Do you play the organ? As a very average pianist, I always thought it might be a nice instrument to take up - we'll see what happens when I retire and (hopefully) have some more free time!
An Excellent photograph!
Best Wishes,
John.
