Photographer’s Note

This is a Canadian lady in Scotland playing along with some Irish fiddle music. The Cello goes extremely well with the solo fiddle adding rich tones and atmosphere to the old tunes. Very directional stage lighting giving some nice soft shadows.
Cropped and sharpened.

Beautiful choice. The skin tones, the lighting, detail.. all are just superb. You can see the grain on the wood of the cello. I like the small bit of blur from the movement of her hands. Beautfully cropped for a perfect effect. This is just wonderful. Great shot! Warm regards,

Excellent capture.
Good lighting and skin tones. Sharpness and details are spot on. The expression on the lady adds to the beauty of the pic. Seems like she is really lost in music. Good composition.

I agree with your note with the stage lighting. It really adds a lot to an portrait when the light isn't coming from the camera. This is a perfect example of that. I really like the slight use of motion blur in the bow and in her fingers (maybe you caught her using a little vibrato?) The color tones are very rich and your cropping is well done.

Wonderful! Perfect exposure and lighting and the slow shutter-speed has brought out the movements of this young lady's pizzicato: the rest of the image is stunningly pin-sharp.
