Good Morning Everyone,
During our TE meeting at Peebles, a group of us set off to discover the location of a Scottish geocache. (A geocache or ‘cache’ is a small waterproof treasure box hidden outdoors. Geocachers seek out these hidden goodies guided by a GPS enabled device which uses coordinates, or ‘waypoints’.)
The footsteps over the bridge were, co-incidentally, heading in the right direction. So apart from treasure hunting, we also experienced this wonderful bridge over the River Tweed.
The route took us a little longer than expected but, with true dedication, we found the treasure and signed the log book.
Have a lovely day,
P.S. In response to Arthur's (Kugart) request for more visual information about the bridge at Melrose, I thought a w/s photograph might be useful. I have uploaded one, with a friendly horse for added interest!

A new angle on orienteering? First class symmetrical composition. The dark bridge supports sit well against the menacing sky. Excellent rendering of the detail.

a shot that you have composed superbly. The symmetry and balance here are just perfect as are the irresistible lines. The overcast skies add to the atmosphere and intrigue of this treasure hunt superbly, so glad you found it. Sounds like fun!
Have a great weekend - Brian.

A fine shot of the bridge taken from a good angle which gives deep perspective .love the low angle looking up the tension rods towards the concrete tower with the magnificent arch similar in shape to the ones on Brooklyn bridge . Has me wondering what this bridge looks like from the side.
All the best

Ah, the way to the treasure trove! I do hope that no mugglers are seeing this one but I suppose they would still have half a mile or more to walk to the buried treasure!
A very nicely composed symmetrical image in which you have managed to preserve some character in the sky even though, if I remember correctly, that sky did seem overly bright and featureless at the time. Good natural colours, perfect exposure and excellent details and clarity.
P.S. I'll send you a picture of the found treasure.

Un très beau point de vue sur la passerelle qui donne une belle impression de profondeur. Le cadrage est très symétrique et du plus bel effet. Le paysage anglais est très beau même sous des nuages menaçants.

Good evening Beverly,
Both pictures are marvelous, I like the one with the horse and the view on the length of the bridge - but understand you had to tell about the footsteps of the crossing's, so post this as a main photo.
Nice place and charming view in the rural country, I enjoy looking at the contrast between old stone towers and the modern railings and cables mounted on.
Taken well under cloudy sky aloft.
Have a nice weekend,

un ponte originale, le righiere e i tiranti bianchi spiccano su tutti gli altri colori e creano un bel gioco visivo.
Ottima inquadratura e bella realizzazione.

Like this one! Symmetrical composition was a brilliant idea to achieve a superb depth and perspective. Quite cold and gray tonality made the scene superb interesting and unique. Well done!

Just like Robinson Crusoe! Follow the steps and find the treasure, even that is a great idea for a photo, but what a stroke of luck to have that subject perfectly in this frame with this very cool bridge.
Quite an imposing and somewhat ominous bridge too, I think the cloudy sky helps that along.
And in keeping with my strange habit, I do see a large angry robot shooting lasers out of his eyes at your camera here!
All the best

Intéressante architecture de ce pont , bel effet symétrique en cadrage, la présentation en WS aide a bien comprendre la forme de ce pont original, superbe les deux présentations sous le ciel gris

Good lead in lines and well managed symmetrical perspective of the twin sides of the suspension bridge leading the eye deep into the image and nicely framing the bg vanishing point. Good sharpness and a pleasant diffused light. Tfs!

I completely forgot about this lovely bridge! It is really unique! Nice frontal symmetry here. Again I am so surprised by the quality of your photos taking into account that you had just simple camera with you. It did not stop you from taking a fantastic shot here. I really like the details of the clouds in the sky. I was not able to balance the exposition of it with the rest.
Very funny that you captured the wet footsteps there it adds a nice touch.

Ciao e buona serata

This bridge reminds me a small copy of the Brooklyn bridge. I like this symmetric composition, fine details of the construction. Good contribution to the TE-meetings theme. This is main part of life of our community.
Best wishes from Russia!
