Photographer’s Note
The bridge over the Gala Water at the entrance to, and behind the 18th green of, Torwoodlee golf course. A grey day with not much sky to speak of but makes the tree colours better. The club has over 100 years of history and a superb location in rolling countryside north of the town.
Shot at iso 100 with slight polarisation on the water, the colours are slightly muted due to the large compression required. There was also a slight breeze.

Hi Dougie,
A perfectly balanced composition with fantastic colours. Seems like autumn is the favorite season for photographers!

Hi Dougie!
All the elements (the bridge, the trees etc.) are accurately composed. I'd like to see some clouds, but still, the picture is nice. Thank you for the details - both technical and those concerning this place.

What's up Dougie,
I really love the colors of the foliage! I really like the bridge in the photo and usually I'm not interested in bridge photos at all but the fact that you got a nice river in it makes me think of fly-fishing and so you got me on this one. Great job!

i looked at this primarily for the effects of the cokin filter..grey soft graduated
and with 100asa and daylight f13 1 sec the filter must have a lot of effect on overall exposure
i know ND can go up to 4x 8x +++ etc and i am interested why you want to use such slow speeds...i know there is water there...and i suspect it could be for the colours..or both
in any case the results bear out the technique
saturated and sharp without hardness
bridge does a two fold job...lets us get across and ties both sides of your image together
cheers

Hi, Dougie,
such a pleasant shot. I like the contrast in the dark left side and the right with the splendid well lit colors connected by the bridge. Impressive fall colors and I like the smooth flow of the water. Very pretty scene. Thanks and warm regards,
Shelly

Supurb composition, Dougie
I like this autumn scene with perfect details. Colors are muted, yet well saturated. The old bridge really showcases the environment.
Well done, Mike
