Photographer’s Note
Chinese New Year Dragon dance being performed by the Glasgow Hong Lok Lion dancing team in Galashiels. The year of the Pig I was told, which is associated with fertility and virility. "To bear children in the year of the pig is considered very fortunate, for they will be happy and honest".
Very spectacular and noisy, a nice diversion on a cold day.

Hello Dougie.
51 visits and not a comment...maybe you should unravel the newest $500 photoshop and crank that saturation to +350...then people would notice.
Obviously a joke...A little irritating.
I mean, the photo (to my eyes) is very good. The subdued colors of the background elements create a nice stage for the small bursts of color from the dragon...very subtle, but that is the beauty. Behind we have the smiling children and other onlookers rejoicing in the celebration. We know how the movements of these dragons are quite fast, and you have composed a great moment...great foreground interest and detail and enough background detail to give us a fine context for the shot.
THe blown out sky seems comforting here...maybe it was a grey day, but people are enjoying themselves very well...and you've captured that mood.
I just feel as though people on TE should open their eyes a little wider.
Regards,
Chris.
