Photographer’s Note
One of our local festivals involves galloping horses (and riders)uphill along one of the longest streets in the town. This is the crowd forming at the top of the hill in expectation of gallopers approaching from the left. Taken from a convenient upstairs window, just before the police cleared a path for the riders.

I suppose there should be someone named Waldo in this crowd, though I cannot find him.
There's a nice diagonal move through the frame, that helped getting some structure, which is the most difficult thing to manage in a crowd picture.

Hello Dougie,
\this could be Annan on Riding of the Marches day although we don't have a hill in the centre of town for the riders to gallop up or down.
You have a nice sharp image here with lots of interesting detail. I like people watching anyway and you have allowed me from my PC desk. Actually, they look a smart lot...some seem to be dressed in their Sunday best....shits and ties and flowery skirts.
regards,
Bev
