Photographer’s Note
Last month I visited one of my cousins who has just relocated his farming business from Northern Ireland to Scotland. In the field nearest the farmhouse is this menhir, one of a line of standing stones erected by pre-historic people across Perthshire. The quartzose schist stone goes deep into the ground and stands 1.6 m high above the ground, 0.6 m wide. Its unique feature is the red sandstone sundial which was put on top of it in the 19th century.

Hello Winifred,
A prehistoric menhir re-cycled as a sundial base is certainly not something one sees every day!! I like this view very much indeed, with its pin-striped fields and soft greens and browns strengthened by black. Your placement of the sundial in the panoramic format is perfect.
Very enjoyable!
Best wishes....Maggie
