Photographer’s Note
This is a series I took of this fine architecture.
Sir Gabriel Wood Mariners Home. In Greenock.Built in 1850.
I said yesterday, that walls had been built so no sharp corners, also to make pleasing to the eye.
On the far left of the building this is seen in two walls, coming out from the main structure, only to hide the corners.
I had not seen this before. It is great design.
Not seen in todays architecture.
The autumn leaves are getting thinner on the trees now.

Hello Robert,
I can see that you were enchanted by this building which has a charm of its own. A very pleasing composition with good balance. The lush greens of the well maintained lawns make a perfect contrast with the brickwork of the mansion. Very good natural colours and excellent clarity.
