Photographer’s Note

Another shot of the very beautiful Eilean Donan castle in Scotland on the road to the Isle of Skye. This time I left the picture in colour because I liked the effect of the sky. It was a very wet day and this was a short break between the showers.

Eilean Donan has been used for films such as the fantastic Highlander :)

Hi Fiona!
Scotland,I`ve been only to Edingborough,and I`m dreming to visit the countryside with it`s wonderful castles,too.
This is a well composed shot of this castle,taken from a great POV.I like the light at it and the contrast with the grey sky.
The horizon seems to be tilted.

Hi Fiona,
This castle is maybe too famous to surprise anyone on TE. But to be honest I think you've taken one of the best pictures one can imagine of such a subject. The sky tones are simply superb and dramatic as they can be in Scotland... and at the same time you were very lucky to have that sunshine on the castle walls.

One of your finest posts Fiona .. both in composition and exposure, you have got great detail from the castle and distant shore, and the sky is amazing .. I much prefer the ripples in the water than the traditional "looking glass" that many photographers go for .. excellent work

This is a fine composition, and the cloud formations work to your advantage!
The frame is well balanced, and the varied light adds life...

Its great when you have been to such places as I know the setting and surroundings here. This is a very nice shot Fiona of this famous castle. Even though there is strong contrast you have maintained detail in the shadows. There is a slight tilt that is easy correctable. well done.
