Old Man Storr, a photo from Highland, Scotland

Photographer's Note

Taken in early morning right above the Old man of Storr in the Isle of Skye.
This is one of the two hikes up to the Old Man during my tip in Scotland, both during sunrise.
On this occasion I was accompanied by Ian Cameron a wonderful Scottish photographer.
The weather was a bit cold and windy but truly wondeful feeling standing up there non the less.

Superbly composed shot. The low viewpoint gives a nice filling foreground interest and the sky is suitably subtle so as not to steal the show away from the scene.
Really nice.

Great shot of a great location. I think this shot could have been improved if taken from slightly more to the left, this would have given some space between the foreground interest and the main focal point of the image old man storr. Also think I would have included a little less of the sky, if you move the image up the page about 2 or 3 cm so the top is cut off it looks more balanced. Just came back from a trip to scotland myself. because of the weather I didn't make it to skye, but shots like this make me want to go asap. great work
