Photographer’s Note
These are shellfish creels, stacked on the pier in Ullapool. Ullapool was originally built on the success of the herring fishing, then white fish. With these fish either depleted and subject to quotas or simply no demand for them, shellfish is now on the major catches landed here. In some ways the creels have saved Ullapool, just like a lifebelt.

Hi Ben,
a very arty shot, Janice is proud of you! I love the ropes in front of the creels, the lifebelt tells us where the shot took place and the creels themselves? Well your note tells the story. Great capture, well seen.

Steve

Ben
Very well composed shot. The netting of the creels creates a wonderful pattern and using the lifebelt to "place" the shot in Ulapoolis a nice touch.
