Photographer’s Note

Hi there, thought I'd upload this photo from a trip to Glencoe a few months back. The shot looks across Rannoch Moor towards the Black Mount. The awesome beauty of Rannoch Moor and Glencoe should not be missed if your ever travelling in this part of Scotland.

Over 50,000 people each year also walk through this part of Scotland as part of the popular West Highland Way. It stretches 95 miles from Milngavie in the north of Glasgow to the foot of its highest mountain Ben Nevis which overlooks Fort William in the Scottish Highlands.

Hello, James.

I like this one a lot. The colours, contrasts and exposure are spot-on and the whole picture is as sharp as a pin. Very nice indeed.

I also like the reflections in the beautifully still water.

Now, what really intruiges me is the fact that over 100 people have looked at this and yet only one other person has felt fit to comment upon it: to me it is a superb image. I rather suspect that you must have taken this picture from pretty much the same viewpoint as this favourite picture of mine taken by Dougie Johnston some time ago. He, of course, had the advantage (no doubt a hard-earned advantage) of taking his one in low light at 5.30 a.m. and so the lighting was more favourable. Nonetheless, as I said earlier, this picture deserves a lot more praise than it has received.
