Photographer’s Note
My second visit to this unique, magical and popular place on Isle of Skye - Old Man of Storr, the icon of Skye. The Storr is a formation of weirdly shaped rock pinnacles, remains of ancient volcanic plugs.
Rocks pictured here are also known as The Sanctuary, Old Man of Storr is the middle one. The whole area gives an impression of almost lunar landscape.
It is easily reachable by car or bus and not far away from main Skye city - Portree (Port Righ in Gaelic). I can highly recommend this spot to anyone who visit Skye, apart from the amazing rocks it feature some excellent views over the Sound of Raasay and Raasay island and wonderfull cliffs on the other side.
I used two shots with different exposure due to very high contrast between sky and the ground, blended together to keep all the details, taken in RAW mode, CPL filter used and tripod.
Thanks for any comments, have a good day.

Hi Tomasz
A good high pov, with interesting rock formations. Perhaps I would warm the fg a bit, by adding more yellow & red?

Hi Tomasz
I have heard of Isle of Skye, but never of these rocks! It is very interesting and well presented.
The clouds are a (lucky) very good background.

Hi Tomasz,
The shot looks great. The blending of the two exposures is seamless.
Really good composition and POV.
Superb.

Hi Tomasz,
This is an interesting place. The rock formations seem to stand out in this desolate landscape. The contrast and details of the image are very good and you chose an excellent point of view to capture the scene. Nice work Tomasz.

PS. I hope Mateusz will get the postcard from my wife.

Hi Tomasz,
That's just a magic place ! This Old Man of Storr is a very strange rock and the view from there is outstanding. You chose a nice point of view and colours and light are great. It's a shame there looks to be a lot of noise in the background. Good shot anyway.

Hi again.
I picked this one out as an excellent example of 'HDR' work, because it does not look artificial. I think you have managed to make it look the way it must have looked to the naked eye. Marvellous rock formation, great sky, and nice little track leading the eye into the shot. I recall seeing these rocks when I first visited Skye about 34 years ago!
Regards,
Andrew
