Photographer's Note

The Callenish Standing Stones are a stone circle on the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides, similar to Stonehenge but much smaller. We were lucky enough to visit the area when there were not many other people around so there were plenty of opportunities to photograph these unique stones. You only have to look at the stones closely for afew minutes before they take on the resemblence of figures from a bygone age, each being different from another. Even faces can be seen if you look closely enough. They are warm to the touch. Viewed from the top of the hill the stones are set out in the form of a cross.
