Photographer’s Note
Inverness Castle was built on the site of an earlier fortress in 1835 and sits on a low cliff overlooking the River Ness and the cathedral on the opposite bank.
It is thought that 11th-century castle which featured in Shakepeare's play Macbeth (even though there is no historical evidence to suggest that it was where Duncan I was murdered) was in fact located to the east of the present castle. Originally built of wood, it was replaced by a fortress of stone on Castle Hill. Apparently there have been sightings of the ghost of King Duncan walking along the banks of the River Ness in full regalia.
Today Inverness Castle houses the Sherriff's Court. Take Castle Street which winds its way up around the rear of the castle and past some pretty floral displays to get to the statue of Flora MacDonald.
But the most important thing is, just in the opposite side of the castle there's a place you musn't miss if you are in Inverness...a Spanish restaurant called "La Tortilla Asesina" ("The Assassin omelete")...great, great!!!! :P
I hope you like it!

Hello Oscar ,
Very beautiful POV on this famous castle (although not often presented on TE) . The light conditions were excellent , so stones tonalities are wonderful , with a good contrast with the green grass , and the (almost) blue sky . Clouds are like smoke coming out from chimneys .

Scotland provides this great light very often. Dark clouds and strong sunlight, which result in a great contrast.
Very nice composition

Hi Oscar,
The strong colour of the sun-exposed castle is very attractive against the deep blue and cloudy sky. A good note as well, i.e. a very suitable TE contribution!

Me aburre mucho tu foto.

Heeey !
Here is one of the favorite and so wanted lights which the photographers are fond of. Black clouds with direct sunlight: The angle from the street is also good, it covers the castle entirely, but I always prefer architectural shots taken from a distance, when you don't have to raise the camera. However, I am sure that there was a way to correct the vertical in PS

Salut,

Oscar,
difficult to say something meaningful after all the good critiques that you got here. So let me be the devil's advocate because I don't want to repeat what everyone else already mentioned about the light, etc.
I see some round spots in the clouds. I have to believe that these are traces of your cloning out dust spots. Something that can be corrected easily and make this shot perfect.

Hello Oscar, Lovely capture of this famous Scottish Castle, I like the colour, light & the low POV , it contrasts well with the grey/blue sky. Nearby is not only the home of a good Spanish Restaurant but also the Loch Ness Monster.
I was there nearly 20 years ago, thank you for the memories.

Hello Oscar,
I think that the "lion share" of the great "impressiveness" of this photo belongs to the contrast "sky - castle"! :)
The Castle stands there, so warmly and brightly sunlit! and there is a threatening darkened sky above it...
Excellent POV!
