Photographer’s Note
Aonach Mor is one of the tallest mountains in Scotland at a height of 1219 metres. It is close to Fort William and near to the highest mountain in the UK, Ben Nevis (just out of the picture to the right).
This photo was taken from Neptune's Staircase, a series of locks that lift boats from Loch Linnhe up to the Caledonian Canal.

Jonathan, c'est superbe cet arc en ciel devant ce paysage sauvage et plein de froidure. Le ciel est menaçant à souhait. C'est une ambiance de terres froides qui nous ramène en hiver.

Hi Jonathan,
Just found you on TE - you're certainly well travelled!
This show however is closer to my home.
I love the shot - I like the framing you've chosen with the folliage. The colours are really nice and subdued. The sky is full of drama, even without the (double) rainbow.
Excellent shot - I'm off to explore the rest of your stuff
Cheers

Hi Jonathan, An impressive catch of the rainbow with the snow peak in the background and the trees with hint of spring in the foreground. Nice sharpness and excellent contrast. Well done.

Hej Jonathan,
Wow, what a beautiful view, this rainbow and the dark clouds. The rest of the landscape is also great and the trees in front work well too. Well captured!

Hi Jonathan,
Magnificent capture of this rainbow. There is a good game of light and shadow in here which make this photo very impressionist. I love the heavy atmosphere given by those dark clouds and the nice contrast with the sunny fields in midle plan. The rainbow is really close. I also can see the pot of gold in there. Very well done!

Hi Jonathan - it is quite rare to see a rainbow together with snow, so that gives it a unique appeal, great timing.

This is one of the best rainbow shots I've seen. The colours are very vivid. I like the way this conveys the beauty and the harsheness of the place. Great work!

Hi Jonathan,
Outstanding imagery with one of the better rainbow shots I have seen on TE. Having said that, I think you may have bumped up the contrast a little high in order to obtain the rainbow drama. On balance though it is a good trade-off. I like also the way the clouds hang over the mountains and yet the snowy portions of the peaks are still well seen in contrast to the sky. A very alluring shot, Jonathan. Well done.

Hi Jonathan,
Magnific capture of the rainbow on this beautiful view. Great colors and superb light. The composition is just great, combining well the several layers, the vegetation, the open field, the mountains and the imposing sky. Great work. Take care,
Ricardo

Hi Jonathan
No polariser for the rainbow colours and no grad filter and still the effect is bold and stunning!!The heavy sky makes this place feel really wild and dramatic - very Scottish - and the rainbow which is so vivid is the icing on the cake!
