Photographer’s Note
The Scottish Highlands are a magical place.
For me this image captures the raw feel of the first snowy blast of winter in the inhospitable landscape.
Originally a colour negative, I've scanned this into PS Elements, dropped the colour (what little there originally was) boosted the contrast in the sky a little, and applied USM, then finaly added noise to simulate film grain.
There is a timeless quality in sepia - I do hope you think I have managed to capture some of the atmosphere in this photo.

This is an interesting photo and does indeed convey feeling about the landscape, I would be interested in seeing the original negative to see the difference your pp made.

I like this alot. It seems to promote a feeling of isolation. I feel the toning and added grain also gives a sense of timelesness. It looks as though the photo could have been taken a long time ago.
