A color and different compo version of one of my older photos: "Ovals, Parabolas and a Man".
GoMA is the second most visited contemporary art gallery outside London. It offers a thought-provoking programme of temporary exhibitions and workshops. GoMA displays work by local and international artists. It also addresses contemporary social issues through its major biannual projects.
The Gallery of Modern Art opened in 1996 and is housed in an elegant, neo-classical building in the heart of Glasgow city centre. The building was refurbished to house the citys contemporary art collection, and is an appealing combination of old and new architecture. It incorporates a number of artists commissions.

Very interesting and attractive picture, with special regards to the exposure, chosen pov and superb symmetrical composition!
TFS - congrats,

This is very cool, the angle you chose here makes the oval roof light look like a huge eye looking down at the man, who himself seems very mysterious by the fact that he is in silhouette here. The curving rail of the balustrade compliments the oval above perfect creating a beautiful sense of symmetry combined with the doors. Wonderful light, and beautifully sharp in this light condition, I would reckon that was hard to do! A class result.
Thanks as always

Colori e luce gestiti in maniera magnifica.
Ciao e buona domenica

Love it! The visual effect supported by the perfectly managed symmetry of the composition is absolutely outstanding and gave a fantastic result. Very well managed image. Excellent presentation.

Creatively composed shot. I love it!

An excellent control of exposure and a nice contrast between the well lit glass roof and the man as a silhouette
I like this one
Best regards, have a nice sunday

An interesting variation on the old theme, changing the balance of the composition, not just adding colour. Here is a man in the light with rounded shapes, the other version was rounded shapes with a man in the light. Both are striking compositions from a very well observed opportunity.

Very creative shot. The different curves and the symmetry give some great movements. With the man in the middle of the door, it looks like a surrealistic paint.

this is where these ultra wide angle lenses come in handy.
I used to have this same lens, but i switched it out for the 8-16m Sigma.
love the glass at the top, and all the circular forms. its a lesson in geometry haha
and having that person in the middle kind of gives it a creepy feeling too, like we're watching a horror movie!

un bon point de vue, et une superbe réalisation;
L'architecture, la lumière sont magnifiques et la silhouette humaine est bien centrée.

Hi Deniz,i'm a fan of liberty style and this ceiling that remember a bit this style is absolutely beautiful! A great capture in a perfect exposure and in a top class pic, made with the usual professional quality,i like it! Have a nice week and thanks,Luciano

The rectangle with a man inside makes a good contrast to all the curves here, parabolic, hyperbolic and elliptic as they may be. The symmetry in the picture is very good and enhances the interest.

Hello Deniz - Difficult to understand why you have been sitting on this super shot for so long. It's marvelous. beautifully symmetrical with well managed light, I wonder how long you waited for the figure to be so perfectly positioned?
I feel there is a story being told here... an enigmatic mood
dekanski (5642) 2014-04-28 2:13
Nice Deniz, very nice!
I would, however, "let" a little more light (especially in the lower part).

Good to see you back! Moreover with this splendid archiecture symetry, mixing parts of circles, yellow and blue tones. The human silhouette is the cherry on the cake.

Selam sevgili Deniz,
Bu kare de muhteşem ! Benim Chicago kubbelerini ya da Berlindeki Schloss Charlottenburg kubbelerin anımsatıyor.
Kapıdaki silüet'te ayrı bir tad katmış bu güzel kareye.
PS.Kyoto Güzel'i ülkeye döndü mü ?

it´s certainly one of those situations, where the wide-angle lens makes the difference.
Because of the pose(and not beautiful colors:)I prefer this version. It conveys much better this for me kind of mysterious feeling of the scene.
PS.I see you use Sigma 10-20mm.I´m about to buy it to my Nikon.Could You tell how does the work look with it?I know the lens has no vibration reduction, just like the Camera,so is the tripod necessary if you don´t want to increase ISO?

A very artistic shot with really wonderful composition. Love the way the ceiling and the railing curves in different direction creating a very strong perspective. The person adds a perfect touch and make this composition more compelling and visually intriquing and it draw the viewers into the image.

I am glad to see that finally you dicided to post something even if the photo is not quite new. The stained glass window above looks beautiful in colour but I prefer the black and white version, it has more impact for me. But this one with a man standing there is cool also.
Have you noticed that the museums if modern art have usually such funny names, like GoMA, MoMA, KUMU and so on. Creative idea and excellent realization.
They say that the symmetry is boring, why? I love such symmetry.
Warm regrads MAlgo

Merhaba dear Deniz
Good to see you posting again, I hope everything has been ok with you. And this one from your archives, how could you have hidden it from us for so long. I really like the exaggerated perspective and the moody light. The silhouettes are excellent and the glass dome cling is stunning. Top quality shot, thanks for sharing.
Have a beautiful day

my first thought was - what topic for BW picture and only then I read your note and saw the picture at your link. Both are great, giving different moods, and in the end I like this one more maybe for the static silhouette which gives kind of contemplative feeling.

I have heard about GoMA but never visited. This is a very well taken shot showing the symmetry of the architecture. The man in the doorway surrounded by light makes this a very interesting composition. Lovely colours and excellent sharpness.
Very well done.
Kind Regards, Ann

Beautiful building and a very good composition. I really like the person at the entrance and the details of the magnificent ceiling. Really well framed!

great use of the UGA to get those curves at the top and bottom of the frame. This museum surely is a good photo opportunity and you didn't miss out! The figure adds a welcome human presence and some mystery. Love it!

Hello Deniz. Lines, shapes and structures. A beautifully balanced photo with best colors and handling of the light. The glass dome and the man are a good counterbalance.
