Photographer's Note
Ah the Squinty Bridge (Clyde Arc) lit up in the last moments before they rudely shut the lights off in the morning.. Damn those pesky council cost cutting exercises..
Saturday morning i thought ok go for it John its shaping up nicely and the sky looked promising.
Off in the car at some point after 6am to get into Glasgow for the pre dawn and dawn light.
This was the first of the day and luckily i went straight here and didn't wait any longer. The Exif says 8:05 it was 7:05 i haven't altered it for the clocks going back yet.
The lights went off at precisely 7:12 i know as i was on the other side of the bridge shooting a long exposure when click and gone.
If you look closely at the sky you will see slight star trails which were a we bonus :-)
tech stuff
41second exposure
ISO 100
Tripod as low as i could get it for this angle
remote release
The usual colour correction
no filters it was dark enough for this
F11
Focal length 39mm (fullframe)
hyper focal attanined by focusing on the part tr the 3rd visible support. It does not look about a 3rd in but it was from my angle

hi John,
it was worth, all the "trouble" you have before (stand up early, driving, tripod)
a good POV, to get the arch, and a good composition, with elements that guide over the photo
well seen and done

Good POV. I like how the lines and the arc draw your attention to the same direction. I also like the contrast between the yellow on the floor and the red illumination. TFS

Hi,John!
You captured this unusual modern bridge with great skill. Excellent combination of blue sky and red illumination of arch. Complex geometry is very impressive.
Good luck.

Ciao John
bella idea, il pov mette bene in risalto l'architettura di questo ponte, non ricordo di averlo visto quando sono stato a Glasgow. Ottimo il controllo delle luci.
Saluti

Hello John,
I'm amazed that you managed to take a photograph here with a 41 second exposure and not have been run down by passing traffic even at 7 a.m. on a Saturday morning. Is there not much traffic at all at that time here?
This is a very striking picture of the "Squinty Bridge" and extremely well composed. Not only is the bridge perfectly placed in the frame, but those double yellow lines are perfectly placed too and form an extremely strong "lead in" to the picture.
Lovely lighting, gorgeous vibrant colours, perfect exposure and, as always, stunning details and sharpness.
Beautiful!
Kind Regards,
John.
