Photographer’s Note
This is my first attempt to upload a Panoramic view. This is a composite of six pictures conjoined using a free demonstration version of "Autostitch". I shall see if the upload of the full-size version works!
I have been very impressed by the works of Didi Massoud on this site. It would appear that he uses "AutoStitch" although I am not sure which version he uses.
You can download the free "demo" version (which I have used) of this software here.
In any case, this is a view from the old habour in Newport-on-Tay, looking across the River Tay toward Dundee with the Tay Road Bridge on the right.
Six pictures shot at focal length of 30mm, joined with "AutoStitch" and then edited, resized and framed in PSE6.

Hello John,
I just looked your full size version, great photo with such detail, I like the small barge sitting alongside the small jetty, will make a great poster. I am pretty novice when it comes to what you have done with your photo.
Great effort and your time taken in your note to explain.
Thanks for sharing.

Hello John,
What a fantastic panorama for your first attempt! Not only that, you have achieved the full 4000 pixels in length - something I have never got near to. Did you use a tripod for this?
A fine choice of subject on a day of superb weather - I am particularly impressed by the control of the exposure across the six images from light in the middle to the shadow details on the right. Did you use the same exposure values for each shot, or did you have to tweak each [RAW?] image separately?
The colours, the details and the sharpness are impeccable, and not a sign of any stitching anywhere.
A surgical masterpiece!
Kind regards,
Peter.

Hi John,
I've often thought that Dundee presented a great panoramic seaboard type cityscape from the south, probably unique in Scotland, apart maybe from Inverness from North Kessock, as it is clustered towards the firth and and crawls nicely up the slope towards Dundee Law.
This is a great view but I think the road bridge gets in the way a wee bit from this elevation. I don't know if there is an accessible high point behind Newport that may afford a sightly downward pov, probably stitched with a zoom. Good one, thanks.
Dougie.

Hi John,
I just downloaded "Autostich" so I´ll try it soon... The large version here is really extremely sharp and full of details that you can´t really see in the normal version. Where is the linoleum factory?
Best regards

Hi John
Nice first try, the large version gives me a feeling that I am into the picture.
The foreground is deep and that is great.
However you should under expose the lights between -1/3 and -2/3 to give more details in the whites.
I use now Autopano for making my stitches not only for panos but for also simple views.
Best regards
