Photographer's Note
Only a few miles farther down the coast from my last two postings, this is Pittenweem in full swing. This is the busiest fishing village in the East Neuk of Fife and skippers and crewmen were busy fettling their boats and engines, mending nets and generally making ready to head out to sea.
It was here that I met a nice fellow photographer who was a local man and who told me of a good place to go to take a picture of nearby Crail which you can also see in smaller format here.
Taken from the west harbour wall, you can see from where I took this photograph if you look at Map:[view] or, alternatively, you can go for a little drive along the seafront if you drag down the little yellow man here.
Shot in Raw using a polarising filter and converted and edited in PSE6.

Hi John,
beautiful the crowded port with the fishing village on the backdrop. The brilliant light and the vivid colours of the image make it an eyes catcher.

Hi John,
the colors and the light are a feast for the eyes! You have composed a wonderful impression of this busy harbor from a very well working POV. My compliments, also for the interesting note!
Warm regards

Good Afternoon, John,
The spring light is a real treat, lighting and shading interestingly, on this picturesque, Scottish harbour.
Your composition reveals the strong triangle, anchoring the f/g of the shot and providing a good sense of depth.
I can only commend you on the use of F8, which has produced crisp, details in the f/g and just a little, perspective blurring, in the b/g.
When the sun is out, what can better shots like this!!
My warm regards,
Bev :-)
Is retirement still as agreeable?
