Photographer’s Note

Another picture of Falkirk wheel rotating boat lift. The structure you can see is a water way - not ending in the air , but at the end of it there is a boat lift that joins the two channels together. The picture showing how it works you can see at Gray day at Falkirk and the detailed descriptive note is also there.

This is a great shot, I have seen this interesting machine before, I once saw a time-lapse video of it during one whole day. Fascinating invention! Excellent photo quality and frame, good DOF and great colours. An unusual perspective.

Hi Romana.
Beautiful mix between architectural/technical and natural subjects.
The horizon and the limit of the grass in close up divide in three horizontal parts the picture.
An additional slash line adds depth.

I like your contrast of nature and architecture here! The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness and detail. Your composition and POV are great using the structure to lead the eye through the photo. The channel and grassy slope form nice diagonals giving the photo nice direction.

Ahoj Romana,
pekny zaber, dobre vystihuje zvlastnost tejto stavby, ako aj naznacuje okolitu krajinu. Pekne, prirozdene farby. Velmi prijemna fotografia. Tej travy v popredi sa mi zda byt trochu vela, odputava to od hlavnej temy. Ale inak super.

Brief note in English: Very pretty and calm photo, well describing the strange structure, as well as giving a glimpse of the surrounding landscape. Very pretty and natural colors. It think there´s too much of the grass in the foreground, takes away attention from the main object.
