Photographers Note
Old Town Edinburgh is today a top rated tourist attraction and is being much advertised by its ghosts, ghouls, dungeons and other gothic elements. Its turbulent history is full of tales of horror and terror which mainly compirse graveyard diggers, body snatchers, pirates, witches and witchcraft, plague, burnings on the stake, beheadings, hangings, gore, torment and torture of every kind and blood and blood and blood.
And those buildings were witnesses to all those terrible days, and they are now telling all these stories with witty humor and mockery (what kinda' grandfathers we had!). Here i have a limited place to write down these stories which most of them are fun to hear, so you should better go and check some books of history and paranormalities about Scotland, Edinburgh in particular.
......

Hi Deniz,
I'm not usually fond of these kind of touristic tours, but I did get into the same one as you in Edinburgh, where at the end, there was a creepy woman screaming from her appartment window, scaring the living daylights out of us. Did you get the same conclusion???
Well I like these rows of old buildings very much, with their distinctive architecture. Going for a close-up shot, excluding the sky makes them seem more crammed.
They are almost gloomy by themselves.
Cheers!
Andre

Merhaba Deniz
İlginç notla birleşince korku filmlerinden çıkma hayalet şehir gibi görünüyor insanın gözüne,bakışaçısı,kadraj ve sinemaskop çerçeve hayalet şehir etkisini arttırıyor

We've made out towns of stone. Green is hardly visible as needless luxury..
Your shot shows the horror of how distant to the Nature.. one colorful wall breaks slightly the grey everywhere but.. can it heal our great mood in the morning? Hold tight in the evening?? No wonder only ghosts want to live there.. hmm..:)
Nevertheless it would be really nice to visit Edinburgh..
This year NY, SF and LA, but next Istanbul and Edinburgh.. Another reson to live:) one day I'll ask you Deniz for Scottish travel guidelines? :)
with regards, agn

Bonsoir Deniz
Bravo.

Hello Deniz,
I like this one! you have packed so much of the atmosphere of these old buildings into one frame. I especially like all those chimnneys top left.I would have liked to meet up with you in Ediburgh but unfortunately I have a job to go to in my home town....wouldn't it be good if we didn't have to earn a living?!

Good that taste differs.
I like the UK in general terms, but I do not like this architecture at all.
Maybe I am not neutral - but I think the majority of the people outside the world (I speak about 99%) is so easy to manipulate and to determine, that they HAVE TO like this "top rated tourist attraction" and to say yes, this is so nice.
I remember one typical situation in Barcelona. Whilst we were exploring this wonderful town, we listened to some in this case Germans talking about the town. In short terms thay said, that the town is not beautiful, to narrow streets, few green areas, unlike German towns. Then I asked them, hey, where are you from and the told me: From Munich, SORRY dear Munich inhabitants, but do you really think that Munich is comparable to Barcelona???? FOR SURE NOT. Barcelona is 1000000000000000000000000000000 times better in every sense.
What I want to say:
I personally do not belong the those 99% and therefore, I do not like this ugly architecture, no art-nouveau colors, no balconies... Never ever. But, the photo of yours is fabulous, it shows the ugliness as best as possible.
Hugs Deno mou.

Bonjour Deniz,
Effectively, the show of these grey buildings is sad to frighten! But what a graphics!
And then, there is this small part of optimism with the contrast of this wall with the mosaic of color.
An excellent centring, congratulations!

This is a big piece of great presentation, I think.
... and people leave there, and probably they are happy, they love, they dream ...
Apart from that, I prefer living far away from such places :-)

Really, one can easily believe in ghosts being inhabitants of the town.
Impressive.
And I like very much the left corner with a touch greenery and colours.
Greetings T.
