Photographer’s Note
First of all I must say that I know (yet again!) that technically this picture is not all that but it made me smile and I hope it will you too. Having walked from The Shore at Leith to Leith Walk looking for some street shots but without success, I retraced by steps and came across this cameo scene. From a distance this chef had been standing with the man with the step ladders next to him dangling a Christmas stars decoration over his head with the photographer snapping away. As I got closer the chef moved away to the doorway and the photographer and the man with the steps continued without him. I took a quick shot and asked questions afterwards. "Tony got his Michelin star back" explained the man with the stars, and the photographer was taking pictures for the local press. "Its freezing!" complained Tony and then they all disappeared indoors.

Hello Bev,
Your fascinating note got me thinking, and with a little Googling, I came up with some more information for you about Tony and his restaurant.
Anyway, this is another of your interesting street scenes, and again one of your 1/15sec exposures has come off. You must have very steady hands!
A good composition with the yellow lines and the kerb leading in from the bottom left. The disposition of the three figures, and even the white car, are satisfyingly arranged within the image.
Tony! - if you can't stand the cold - get back in the kitchen!
Regards,
Peter.

Bev, this one is a gem. Such a great story behind everything it matters not the technicalities. Peter helped you there; If I am ever in Leith you know where I am heading, that is, if I can get a table!
You did Tony proud; but give him back the heat of his kitchen, put him amongst those heavenly hot pots and pans, serve us all up some delicious dishes, for Tony, we have heard your the man!
Good one Bev - most enjoyable :)

Hello, Bev.
A great shot this! And poor Tony does indeed look frozen to the marrow.
Your captures of people and street scenes are wonderful and I agree with Casper that the techicalitioes are less important than the capture of that magic moment.
Funnily enough, I have a daughter who lives only a couple of minutes from here too. Perhaps I should be on the lookout for similar pictures!
Excellent!
Best Wishes,
John.

Hi Bev. It must have been cold! Even your camera was shaking ;-). Nice catch, it pays to shoot first and ask later. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers, Paul.

Oh, Bev....
that's the coolest story. And it's just like you said, technicalities matter little with this great a story and a cool shot anyway. The light's great, good color and great composition. And when you read the story, it's wonderful! I love this. Many thanks and warmest regards,
Shelly

Hi,
Nice one Bev. Tony looks like he hails from warmer climes and is wishing he was back there - you'll be getting a job with the Evening News next ;-) thanks,
Dougie

Hi Bev, I think it's a good shot, with a most entertaining note. There is a certain enigma created by the characters in the photo, with viewers taking away different impressions.
Warm regards and have good weekend,
Bulent

Hello Bev,
Better late than never to comment on this unusual picture. Your amusing note tells me all I need to know, but what I find interesting with this and several other pictures you have posted is how they manage to tell little stories all on their own. People's glances, postures and how they interrelate have a very strong effect on my imagination. That's quite a talent you have.
Best regards,
Gert
