Photographer’s Note
Greetings again TrekEarthers!
I have re-posted my lastest picture with a few changes. Someone suggested I have her slightly off center, which I think works well here. Also I can't belive I croped her right hand off! Have a look at the original and tell me what you think!
Original text:
The Edinburgh Festival starts in a few days!!!!!
I have never really seen anything at the festival, but I enjoy walking along the Royal Mile where there are a lot of street performers. There are usually lots of different shows on, including Magic shows, comedians and musicians, like this one.
I don't know anything about this girl apart from the fact that she was fantastic at the Violin!!!
If you are coming to Edinburgh for the festival you must take a walk down the Royal Mile. It is worth it!

Hello Blair,
one of the most fantastic trips I have ever had was to Scotland in the time of Edinburgh festival. I enjoyed street performers two years ago, but more than busy streets I enjoyed the heather in blossom all over Scotland.
Your picture is very nice, with great focus on the violin player in deep concentration. The focus is perfect with the blurred background and yes, this crop is much better :-).
Best regards

hello Blair,
yes, this is a better version than your earlier one. Perfectly composed now with all her digits intact. A I said earlier, you have made a good connection with your subject. re-posting shows the perfectionist in you. Well done.

Hi Blair,
An image that looks and sounds very celtic to me, good portrait with focused attitude and the appropriate DoF to isolate her from the background, having a person sit in the blurred background is a nice bonus to the depth of your image.
Have a nice day jY

Hello Blair,
Yep, that's wonderful! The whole environment now adds to the compo! You also get a good feel now on the man in the distance observing what is going on there with the girl and the photographer. The right side also nicely tight ends the whole compo with the girl! I like it much more as it is right now!
Greetings,
Dennis

Hi Blair,
I see, you reposted this one, now with all of her hand in the frame, very nice! I like this one even better than the other image, which was already great! But now that we have her whole hand in the image it`s perfect. Very nice Blair, I love it!
Take care
Mark

Hi Blair
A good portrait of the young female musician with superb use of a shallow dof, & good sharpness. Tfs!

I do think it is much better compositionally to have her off center. I love the intensity of her look as she is performing, very engaging. You got her just at the great moment. The quality is also good, so nice and sharp, clarity is excellent. Color and contrast is just nice and natural. Excellent work. Thanks

Hi Blair,
She does not look too impressed that you are taking her picture, or maybe she is just involved in the music. Good eye contact with your subject and great use of depth of field to make her stand out from the busy street scene behind. Good work.
