Well, the annual Edinburgh International Festival and its associated "Fringe" concluded last night after events which again saw record attendances and ticket sales which this year have passed £3million mark for the first time.
One of the highlights of central Edinburgh during Festival time is the amazing vibrancy of the city and the wonderful variety of street entertainers with magicians, human "statues", comedians and jugglers all vying for attention - as well as your money!
But amidst all this frenzy there are a few more serious entertainers. This pretty young girl was standing on a bollard outside St. Giles' Cathedral playing her violin most beautifully and I was totally enthralled. Whether it was her fine playing of Mozart or the fact that her beautiful blue eyes gazed at me so enchantingly through my viewfinder, I'm not sure. Probably a combination of both.

well John, I think you've been convinced by street photography now.
A lovely smile rewards you (and us), I like the way she is tilting her head and looking straight at you with her blue eyes matching her jean jacket. The violin bow is in the diagonal of the picture, giving some dynamism.
Good camera settings blurring the dark background.
I don't hear Mozart, but I am enchanted by her portrait.

Aw, the Edinburgh "Fringe" & "Festival", over for another year. I worked, backstage, at the King's Theatre, for 25 years, and we had some memorable Festival shows. It is certainly a vibrant time of year in Scotland's capital.
Your image title is spot on, what a sweetheart she is. Great catch, and thanks for sharing.

Judging from your note she played as nicely as she looks. I hope she was well rewarded for smiling at you (and us) so beautifully. She also dressed very properly for a colour photo. As many times before I appeciate how tightly you have cropped this photo. Everything is inside the frame within a tiny margin, all unnecessary details are excluded.

bello scatto e bella ragazza, mi piace la sua naturalezza, una naturalezza che va dal trucco fino alla sua posa.
Eccellente qualità, la sua figura ha una grande nitidezza, mentre lo sfondo risulta perfettamente fuori fuoco.

You wonderful pictures of the Edinburgh festival make me want to make the effort to go one year soon. The performers seem only too happy to have their photo taken. Another superb portrait where you have really engaged with the woman as she seems to be looking right at you. The DOF is perfect and the exposure and sharpness spot on. Love it!
Kind Regards, Ann

such an attractive, very natural portrait, the young lady is a natural performer judging by her happy smile and direct gaze.
Technically superb being perfectly exposed and pin sharp where needed, against a blurred background it`s a fine piece of street photography.
A lovely,lovely shot.
Best regards Les.

What a pity we can't hear her beautiful music, but we can certainly appreciate her beautiful blue eyes and peaches and cream complexion, thanks to your excellent photograph. Her blue denim jacket matches her eyes and contrasts so nicely with the red polka-dot dress. You really achieved an impressive definition and sharpness, something I always admire in Andre and Abmdsudi's portraiture. Superb eye contact too, she looks like she's about to say something to you.
A delightful photo, superbly realised.
