Another photograph taken during Festival "Fringe" time in Edinburgh when the "Royal Mile" is filled with musicians, jugglers, comedians, magicians and dancers to entertain the crowds and tempt them to attend many of the Festival's activities and shows.
Here a "human statue" takes a little time off from standing motionless and talks briefly to a member of the public.
The Edinburgh Festival Fringe ("The Fringe") is the World's largest arts festival and takes place during the month of August, running parallel with the more conventional Edinburgh Festival of music (especially classical music), theatre, opera and dance.

Even a "statue" needs a break every now and then, yeah?
I was just about to log off when your picture posted, and it's just too irresistible not to leave a quick note. You have a great ability to capture the humanity of the festival, in costume and the "every day." The big smile from this golden gal, and the curious regard from the lady in the background bring the two together once again.
Wonderful clarity, detail and smart depth of field. The only question remains, who's entertaining who? :) Enjoy the weekend. Take good care.

Very nice candid image. Excellent timing to catch her expression. I really like the color, sharpness and DOF here. Great shot!

Nice moment, this statue has a soul :) And it comes across so very well in her warm and welcoming smile, she seems genuinely happy here, not a fake smile in anyway. I love how her eyes are so amazingly blue too, the gold effect must bring that out even stronger. She is also a doppelganger for Cameron Diaz, without of course the metallic finish. Great moment, and brilliantly crisp for such a candid shot.
Thanks as always

a wonderful candid and happy character shot this. It must be a photographer's dream to have all this happening on the Royal Mile. Execution and presentation flawless here. Somehow this lady's blue eyes seem to stand out even more when surrounded by gold. Wonderful!
Enjoy your weekend - B.

An unique composition of the Statue with the man, just he talked with her, very nice art work. Color balance, recording and contrast are well. An excellent sharped image. Good idea.
MOST IMPRESSIVE AND VIVID.
best of all and have a nice weekend.

This looks like a living statue in love. She looks with such a beautiful smile to her admirer…..
Did you already discover the flying living statue and the living statue without a head but with a hat?
The statues becomes more and more inventive constructions.

I am not surprised to see Cameron Diaz working in the street; I just saw her less than two hours ago in a very bad movie from Ridley Scott (The Counselor...Pfff!...) and she has now to recycle herself into a different job.
Although she is covered with gold like an Oscar, she certainly doesn't deserve one.
But what an elaborate costume it is! I think that your shot have much more merit to present this subject in a natural context, rather than being stoic and static while performing. I also appreciate the proximity, almost intimate, or at least close enough to see the colour of her eyes.

Cette "statue dorée" ne manque pas de charme et semble tester le pouvoir de son sourire et de ses yeux sur la personne à côté d'elle. Belle photo!

I also showed the living statue in chat with tourist. How many hours she nedds to make this make up. Fantastic close up showing all the details of her beautiful costume. Who is she suppose to be? gold miner? traveller?
Superb portrait with the blurred background.

Another 'beauty' from the Fringe!
There is so much more life and warmth from this interactive model than ever would have been achieved had she been posing.
You have captured her costume, her hands-on-hip posture and her smiling demeanour with great skill as she stands out so sharply against the interested onlookers.
Have a great Sunday,

I always wonder how these human statues are doing it, standing so still for such a long time and I admire there skills. Having said that, this is an intimate moment of interacting with the public that you have captured here quite well indeed.
have a great week ahead

After the silver man, here comes the golden lady, with her smiling blue eyes chatting with a tourist. Superb sharpness, color contrast.

details and textures are fantastic and I also love the play of the bronze tones with the shadows. This photo is lovely and, in my opinion, also features an intriguing play of contradictions and contrasts. The human statue is fascinating, difficult to be certain whether her expression and posture are spontaneous or part of her role. Her eye contact adds much intensity to the tight composition and the people surrounding her add movement and confirm her status as star of your photo. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great afternoon,
