Photographer's Note

Victoria Street - Old Town Edinburgh. Victoria Street is well known in Edinburgh for it's multi-coloured shopfronts. Located just off the Royal Mile.

Victoria Terrace runs along the upper level of one side of Victoria Street. It is linked Johnston Terrace and lined with restaurants and pubs, which, in fine weather, put outside dining on the terrace.

Hello Jenifer,
I like this view with only the buildings showing, and no sky. The bottom part of the facades are certainly colorful, but I also like the regular stone top portions. Great that you captured someone walking up this curvy street, too. I see that you are new to TE. Welcome, and here is a bit of TE advice: more people will be drawn to your gallery if you write critiques. Have fun! :-)

This is one of Edinburgh's best known streets and you have captured it superbly. The pov is perfect to capture the brightly coloured facades on the tight bend. Looks like you chose your moment well with only a couple of pedestrians in view and, as both are dressed in dark clothing, they add interest without detracting attention.

i love it when people photograph these scenes when they deliberately leave out the skyline, it enhances the subjects and architecture that much more.
makes a strong visual impact this way.
the red door seems to act like a focal point too.
