Photographer's Note
Near Whitecraig/Musselburgh/Carberry in East Lothian. 'Underexposed' by 1/3 stop. A huge field of poppies, but easily missed. Really nice in sunlight, and in quite a strong breeze.

Some photos just catch your eye. For me, this is one such image. The short focal depth with your 'subject' so beautifully crisp and the colours you've captured all help to create a truly stunning image. Well done!
Kind wishes,
Tony

Hello Dougie,
Fabulous!
A lovely splash of beautiful foreground red with wonderful clarity and definition. The red blush in the mid-ground makes us realise that this poppy field is sizeable too. The perfectly out-of-focus background and nearest foreground give a wonderful feeling of depth.
A full-frame camera with a long lens and wide aperture have given a very limited depth of field and you have used that to excellent effect here.
A beautiful summery picture - I'm adding it to my Favourites!
Best Wishes,
John.

A lovelier version than your fb shot, this is just fabulous. I can almost feel the petals.

Hello Dougie - I have just come across your gallery and had to comment on this one. I am impressed with yur use of DOF here, the FG is crisp and poppies so delicately captured. The BG just softly fades away in bands of subtle colour. Wonderful. Best regards Rosemary
