Photographer's Note
The first snows of winter here, and a beautiful light over our local hill. More snow since then, managed to ski up to it from the village, but the temperature has started to rise.

Hello Alastair,
As you so rightly say, it is the wonderful warm light which gives this picture its great appeal. That oblique lighting which "models" or "sculpts" the landscape, giving great depth and revealing lovely details. I presume that this one was taken either in early morning or late afternoon, judging by the obliquity of the light.
Lovely colours, fine lighting, good simple composition and excellent details and clarity.
Beautiful!
Kind Regards,
John.
P.S. I can feel the urge to have another cross-border raid into East Lothian with my camera and do some more poaching on your territory!
