Photographer’s Note
Bad weather, near Garlieston.
The light was doing strange things - sunlit fields, while the mountains were in shadow. It was raining over the distant hills, but it hadn't reached us yet.
Despite appearances, I didn't use any ND grad filters for this shot. I didn't need to - the sky was dark and dramatic enough.

This just reminds me a huge storm I saw last year in Madura Island, Indonesia. I like the dramatic light and colours of the sky. The compo is very good, giving lots of space to the sky.

Hey Ben,
A beautiful scene. Well captured and composed. Nice proportions between the different layers, and definitely beautiful colors and contrasts. Well done.
Enjoy.

Truly a painting, Ben! Very well-chosen view, with the edge of the darkest cloud echoing the outline of the hills, and the fast-moving blue-grey clouds introducing a contrast to the overall stationary effect. Very well done.
Best wishes, Winifred

Beautiful layers and stormy feel here. Excellent idea to have the sky dominate the picture.

Hi Ben
This sky is so dramatic and the darker clouds at the top balance out with the yellow field. The silhouette of the hills add to the dynamics.

Well, what can I say... this is one of them moments when
one only wishes they had a camera with them. And those
who have got one ready, they thank god for the opportunity!
The amount of different clouds here is great, the light
is out of this world, and you framed this one in the
best minimalist fashion.
Hope you have pressed the shutter several times... great
one, Ben!

Really like the way the black clouds almost seem to mirror the dark mountains below. The golden field is an absolute godsend.
Wonderful capture Ben. Best regards, Roberto

Hi Ben,
The contrast between the glowing yellow field and line of distant black mountains is wonderful, but that amazing pink sky really makes it for me. The simplicity of your composition does justice to the drama of the scene.
