Photographer’s Note

A vantage point to watch the parade. Annan's annual event of the Riding of the Marches culminates in a grand parade through the town and onto the High Street. There are floats and pipe bands and a children's fancy dress parade. I arrived late and found myself at the back of the crowd of onlookers. Unable to get a vantage point to photograph the parade I resorted to aiming my camera at the onlookers. Some of whom found vantages points in the upper windows of shops and pubs.
Riding the Marches means to ride the boundaries. These ceremonies take place across many border towns at this time of year.
pp work: had to adjust perspective here.cropped and unsharp mask applied.
ps I have included a workshop of shots I managed to get (although they are not very good).
postscript: John is right about the distorted heads! But hey ho, they do look funny as if they are seen through one of those fairground mirrors. By adjusting the window frame to fit the frame I have created monsters! Does anyone familiar with Paintshop know what can be done?
