Photographer’s Note
Just a scene in a small town. There's a pet shop out of view on the right and I guess the parrot may have gone missing from there; either that or one of their customers has lost the parrot.Come back parrot!!

Hi Bev,
Just looking at the thumbprint and reading your title, I thought of colours! If something was missing here it must be the Norwegian Blue! This is a very fine observation but I wonder why this middle dustbin must be so ugly, when there are so fine colours on each side. But this also shows that you can always find good motives anywhere, you just have to keep your eyes open!
Kind regards

Hello Bev,
This really is the rule of thirds!
A fantastic capture - the lighting is amazing too, with that mottled effect. The close wide angle lens has produced quite a bit of distortion, particularly to the pillar box, but that makes it all the better in a surreal way.
It makes me think of a scene from Bob the Builder - one almost expects mouths to appear on the pillar box and the bins, and for them to start talking.
Perhaps you've got the basis for a new children's TV
programme.
Great!
Kind regards,
Peter.

Hi, Bev.
Is this a POLYGON? What a pity you couldn't have put this picture in a polygonal frame! Well, I suppose a rectangle is a polygon, isn't it?
Anyway, enough of being silly. I love this one - the colours are fabulous, it's as sharp as a pin with wonderful details and the lighting is just superb. Again, it's the lighting as much as anything which makes this picture for me. I presume there is a tree nearby and that is what has cast these beautiful shadows across the three strong subjects and the wall behind.
I laughed when I read Peter's remarks. Perhaps that's good advice to start up some children's television programme with talking bins and pillarboxes: no sillier than some other stuff with which we are regaled on television!
If there's any adverse comment, and its a very, very small one, it must be that it might just have been a little better if the very bottom part of the pillarbox hadn't been cropped off.
Excellent!
Best Wishes,
John.

Hi Bev,
you really have a nice sense of humor! It must be the owner of the ugly dustbin who is missing the bird otherwise he would have owned the green one! Very beautifully composed impression of the hardships of daily life. Hopefully the parrot will come back. TFS!
Warm regards

Hello Bev. Three boxes. I have to smile when I see the humorous photograph. Somehow, three beings standing side by side. The noble red royal box dominates. The smaller tonnes are still satisfied with their lot. The middle box has an important message for the people passing by. Overall, very funny. Best regards, Wolfgang.

Hello Bev,
I love your way of finding interesting pictures where most people wouldn't be looking. This one is startling for its bright colours and splendid light and for the way it sets my fantasy going. Remarkable.
Thanks for sharing,

Hi Bev
Great eye to find this one. Quite unique. Good colours and clarity. I like how the shadows have cast effects on the brick wall in behind.
Good creativity,
Tosca

A nice and well-captured image. I'd've like to have seen it straghtened a little, and - for me - the Parrot Missing sign actually detracts from the overall shot. (For me, this is more about our current society's need to capture and pigeonhole (no pun intended) things. Either that, or I've thought WAY too hard about it!)
Thank you for sharing, though.

Doesn't take much thought (lucky for me, thinking makes me tired) to know this is a funny shot, though!
Nicely exposed and composed, sharp as a tack, too, but, c'mon - it's garbage cans and a post box! It HAS to be funny - lucky for them the poster was there or they may have gone completely ignored...
Thanks for sharing!
