WWT Caerlaverock is wetland nature reserve in southwest Scotland, one of nine reserves in Britain operated by the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust founded by Sir Peter Scott.
It covers a 587 hectare site at Eastpark Farm, on the north shore of the Solway Firth to the south of Dumfries. It is a wild nature reserve with a network of screened approaches and several observation towers. There is a visitor centre and farmhouse accommodation.
Caerlaverock is home to one of only two UK populations of the "living fossil" Triops cancriformis, the Horseshoe Shrimp.
Almost the entire Svalbard population of Barnacle Goose overwinters in the Solway Firth area, with many of the birds often at Caerlaverock for part or all of the winter; their protection by the reserve has enabled the population to recover from just 500 birds in the 1940s, to over 25,000 now.

A wee bit away from Oxfordshire this one! Are you a "twitcher" and enjoy birdwatching? You are, of course, now in Bev's (Glint) territory - a Border Reiver, eh?
A fine graphic image is this with bold sweeping lines and some lovely colours. Gorgeous orange light above those hills and in the still water reflections.
P.S. I see that you haven't been doing a lot of critiquing recently - are you O.K.? I trust that you are well.

Wow.... Richard (where have you been hiding?) this is lovely! The textures, subtle tonal shifts and the colours are very good. You have captured a wonderful, almost abstract scene. Hope you are well, warm regards Rosemary

A very beautiful composition, painting with colours and light, using reflections to compose the scene...delicate colour gradations and well observed contrasts play...a very good work!
Have a nice day...
