Photographer’s Note
Established as a Royal Burgh in 1455, Kirkcudbright has always been supported by a busy fishing trade. Behind the harbour the streets have housed generations of creative artists, a tradition maintained today by a flourishing colony of painters and craftworkers. This has led to it being called "The Artists' Town". Some other well known features of the town are the pastel coloured houses and wide streets.
I received a tip off without about half an hour until the light faded that this was a place to come to to see boats...whilst I was significantly far away in Castle Douglas. So I drove like a mad thing to get here in time, and what with not having the best of cameras at the time (and not knowing how to set it for low light shots) I got mainly disappointing shots. But I like this one rather a lot...
Nevertheless I'd still invite anyone who could improve this with a Photoshop filter to have a bash and let me know how....as I'm sure this could be made lots better. Thanks for any help you can offer!
(For some bizarre reason Dumfries and Galloway doesn't appear as an option for 'state').
