Photographer’s Note
The remote but beautiful Glen Doll with a dusting of snow. Glen Doll follows on from Glen Clova in the eastern Cairngorms. The river is the South Esk.
Some sharpening, cropping and I cloned out telegraph poles and wires. they spoil such lovely places!

Hello Jean,
I wrote a critique on this picture yesterday, but for some reason it hasn't registered. I must have forgotten to click on the add button!
Anyway, I'll try to remember what I wrote.
A classic composition with the broad river leading the eye neatly into the picture. The colours are still rather autumnal, but soon the leaves on the birches will be coming out with the onset of spring.
The snowy mountains make an excellent background, and the evergreen trees act as a good contrast to the birches with their silvery trunks.
Sky looks slightly strange?
Regards,
Peter.

It's a beautiful view Jean, very nicely composed. I just think it needs more sharpening than you did so have done a workshop.
cheers

that's great u cloned out the telegraph poles, just let the nature belongs to nature only. it is always good that get away where we from and "sink" into the nature environment!

Hello, Jean.
By Jove, this one takes me back! Having lived in Dundee from the age of 11 to about 40, I spent many fine days walking in Glen Clova and Glen Doll. Beautiful countryside and you have captured this very well in your beautiful photograph.
I have to agree with Leon (cobbydale) that it could take a little sharpening and he has done a fine workshop for you.
However, the lighting and the colours are exquisite! A lovely photograph indeed!
Kind Regards,
John.
