This is the boat house at Glen Tanar Loch.Glen Tanar is a Scottish country estate close to the small town of Aboyne.I took asolitary morning walk from our holiday cottage.Just me and my camera, the way I like it!We enjoyed a delightful short stay. I especially liked the early calls of pheasants (sound like a rusty gate hinge opening/closing) and the night time hooting of owls.

it is not only the moody colors that make this image very attractive, it is the atmosphere of the countryside! The mood is very well conveyed and felt by the viewer and it is a pity that we cant hear the pheasants. The light is also very beautiful. Most of all I like the fantastic perspective. Warm regards

What a wonderful place and what an interesting note too. Aboyne, of course, was one of the hottest places in Britain during that wonderful heatwave we had in late March. I didn't know that you had a holiday cottage up there - is that your own or were you just renting it for a week or two? Whatever, it looks like a fabulous place to relax and wander around with your camera.
And what a gem this little boat house is! The textures of the old stonework are lovely and its old corrugated iron roof has been invaded with lovely moss and greenery. Gorgeous reflections on the water of the loch and a fine pathway for us all to follow along the loch side.
Fabulous colours and shadows, perfect exposure and excellent sharpness.
P.S. Did you do any freshwater fishing here? Might be just the place to dabble a dry fly!

The pathway is too inviting to resist and leads initially to the strongly textured boat house and then into the woods, full of colour and mystery. A fine composition with well saturated colours and a pleasing sharpness.
Good to see you posting again.
My warm regards,

Good morning Bev,
nice the view of the place, that because of the reddish colours looks like more as an Autumn scenery that a Spring one.
I like the narrow and earthy alley as lead-in in the interior of the area, with the stone made boat house to dominates the image.
Have a good day,Danos

oltre alla bella struttura architettonica della house-boat, c'è la luce ed i colori a rendere molto attraente la foto, e la stradina che corre a bordo fiume. Eccellente la qualità dell'immagine.
Un caro abbraccio

A very pleasant view! The landscape looks very Nordic but I have never seen such a strongly reinforced boathouse before. I guess the boat owner will not have to fear any thieves here...

I wrote a critique to this several days ago but then I had some temporary problem with my computer and couldn't upload. Then I just forgot about it. I remember Icommenting on the fine light and crisp spring colours. I also noted that a boat house made of stone looks very strange for my Scandinavian eyes but is maybe quite normal on the British isles. A pleasant view from a morning walk it is in any case.
