Photographer’s Note

It is now easier - I hope - to see why I find Scottish skies so addictive. You'd better be on the lookout every evening or you might miss a sky battle of giants as extraordinary as on June 9, 2008. Nobody whom I saw around Aberdeen Beach and Esplanade passed the drama indifferent. And whoever had a camera or mobile phone on them, quickly reached for it for fear of missing the climax.

Hi Peter,
what a beauty. Captured at a wonderful moment with such a calm deeling to it. well composed, i like the way you framed the long cloud with the low horizin but yet kept interesting features.

Very nice! Such great colours and depth to this photo. The low horizon, allowing for more of that great sky is a good idea.

Excellent photo , Gallery quality i would say.
The boats on the horizon add to the drama and give it a sense of scale.

I`d enter it in a competition if i were you.

Peter,
Although the sky is putting on a fantastic display here, the shot still need an anchor on the ground - and that's well provided for in this shot too.
