One of those sunsets I will never forget - winds on the mountain were causing the clouds to swirl around this peak as they glowed orange with the sunset. I took this from a ship in the bay at Grytviken.

Cropped original and ran through NeatImage.

Some spectaculaar sunset, wow.It looks almost like a volcanis eruption.
Well captured

It looks like a volcanic eruption! What is really startling is the grey clouds just above the orange clouds. Nice!

magnificent shot! Something I would love to see with my own eyes :)

Looks like the Mountain of Destiny from Tolkien's trilogy... Very impressive shot!
greetings,

Incredieble sunset colours on the fantastic clouds! Dark mountain with glacier in the shadow looks in contrast very cold.
Thanks for share.

Amazing shot David! Wow...
The colours and the composition are superb. I like the darkness of the mountain! The grain in the sky could be a bit more fine though. I don't know what makes it so big.

Thanks for sharing!

great shot

woooooooohaaaa!!!! Man, this shot is amazing!!! What a great moment. Tis gonna be one of my favs

Amazing! The red cloud above a black mountain is incredibly ominous. It looks very surreal - reminding me of Death Mountain in Zelda, or Mount Doom in Lord of the Rings.
Well done!

I think this shot is totally amazing! The colour contrast is one thing but just even the hue, that firey colour is spectacular! Great work!

Bizarly beautiful shot! Looks surreal, even like a shot from the Lord of The Rings movie. Amazing situation!

Cropping a good portion of the dark part from the bottom might look good.

Hi David,
this image looks fantastic. The exposure could have been a little longer in order to reveal more details of the mountain, but overall it is great!
