Photographer’s Note

This one shows Fort Grey a while after sunset. The fort was built in 1804 to defend the island from French invasion, and is known locally as the "Cup and Saucer". It now houses a Shipwreck Museum remembering those who have lost their lives over the years on the treacherous rocks off Guernsey's west coast.
I'd been wanting to get an evening shot of the fort for a while and after a few "postcard" sunset shots put my tripod on the edge of the sea on the granite slipway and captured this view. I like the way the lights reflect, and the slow exposure blurs the lapping waves.
