Photographer’s Note
Kilwarlin Lighthouse is the proper name of what we locals call "The Auld Light". It was the third wave washed lighthous built around the British Isles and the first in Ireland.
Situated on the South Rock, the very most eastery point of Ireland, it was first lit on the 25th of March 1797 and remained in use up until 1877 when it was abandoned and the Southrock Lightship was put on station some two miles north east of the lighthouse.
