Photographer’s Note
Taken in a hay field at St Johns point looking back towards Newcastle.
The Mourne Mountains lie south of Newcastle (barely visable here because of the low cloud) and the local area includes the Tollymore Forest Park and Donard Park. The Shimna River flows through Tollymore Park and enters the sea at Newcastle.
The Murlough nature reserve is situated between Dundrum and Newcastle. The rugged sand dunes and beach are National Trust property.
thanks for looking :)

Hello Gary,
Sublime effort! I hope this image gets the recognition it deserves. Taking photos of bails of hay is not original, but your point of view and amazing atmospheric conditions helps to make this image an absolute stunner. The black frame and title are an exceptional inclusion. I particularly like the texture of the hay on the ground, and the way it is softly lit. The small home in the distance underneath the silken sky is flawless. Beautiful.

Hi,
Really attractive composition with the inclusion of the buildings on the horizon and generating a true perspective. Well managed exposure. Thanks.
Dougie.
