End of the world lighthouse Photo

Photographer’s Note

The tiny lighthouse on the horizon marks the tip of the St John’s Point which is located at the southernmost end of the Lecale Peninsula in County Down (Northern Ireland, UK).

This photograph was taken very shortly after sunset. You can still see the traces of the reddish hue in the right side of the sky. The atmosphere of this place reminds me very much the vision of the future as imagined in Matrix or Terminator movies. Cold, deserted, uninviting place with moonlike rocks. But the light in the distance brings the hope.

Hi Mariusz
Another good shot with the wide angle. I have this same lens and I like it a lot for landscapes. It really emphasizes the flowing clouds and the ruggedness of the rocks.

Hi Mariusz,
one more interesting shot from the Lecale Peninsula with the rocks to be captured perfect.The lighthouse is so tiny on the far end bur the colours tints of the sky are superb.

Czesc Mariusz,
Gdybym nie znal calej historii to nie wybaczylbym Ci, ze ta latarnia jest taka malutka. Nie mniej jednak chcialbym ja nawet w takim malym wymiarze miec w swojej latarniowej kolekcji, ktora bardzo wolno ale sukcesywnie sie powieksza. Podoba mi sie klimat na zdjeciu, choc nie wiem czy nie ocieplilbym troszke balansem. Niebo- fantazja!

Bonjour Mariusz.
Cette série de photos est magnifique. J'aime ici le premier plan avec les rochers déchiquetés par les éléments. La mer et le ciel s'opposent de belle façon à la texture de ces rochers.

Hi Mariusz, that 10-22mm lens does some great things. The sky is beautifully exposed (I'm curious as to how long for) and the detail and light on the FG rocks is again superb. Excellent job, it's a treasure, Lisa.

The photograph seems indeed unreal where supernatural. The colors are remarkable, in particular those of the foreground. The tiny headlight attracts the glance, like an extraterrestrial vessel. It is seen well, brilliantly interpreted, and superbly carried out. Congratulations.
